The HouseBuilt in 1987 the house got its present name "Tanah Merah" in 1998. It is Malay and means "red soil". On this red soil Singapore was built. It is also the title of a very exciting historical novel set in Singapore; the name of a ferry terminal, and one of the most famous golf clubs in Singapore. For nearly six years the present owners lived in Singapore and came to love it; so the name of the house keeps the memories alive.
